GREGORY BALDERACCHI

Mr. Gregory Balderacchi is a retired Homeland Security Professional with over 30 years of experience in federal law enforcement, intelligence, and national security operations with the U.S. Customs Service and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.  He was assigned to the Regional National Security Unit, developing port, regional, and critical infrastructure threat assessments and supporting national security intelligence operations.  As part of the Container Security Initiative (CSI), Mr. Balderacchi identified high-risk international cargo shipments through intelligence-driven risk analysis, supporting overseas inspections before shipment to the United States.  He also conducted investigations involving the illegal export of commercial and military aircraft parts and sensitive technology to the Middle East.

Mr. Balderacchi's additional responsibilities included provenance investigations resulting in the recovery and repatriation of stolen cultural property and antiquities, and service with the U.S. Coast Guard's Freighter Intelligence Surveillance Team (FIST), conducting at-sea boardings to identify and examine high-risk cargo before vessels entered U.S. ports.  He as extensive experience in intelligence collection, threat analysis, risk assessment, cargo and maritime security, and international trade enforcement.
